Welcome to the Guardian’s Path

The Guardian’s Path is a way for men and masculine-embodied individuals to navigate structured journeys of self-discovery, inspired by natural cycles. The path is built around guardianship—the idea that men thrive when they protect and nurture life, whether in themselves, their relationships, their communities, or the land.

If you resonate with what you read below, and want to explore a one-on-one or small group journey, let us know!

Regenerative Masculinity

Regenerative masculinity bridges two powerful concepts gaining urgency and relevance in our culture: Sacred masculinity (the embodiment of mature, honorable, archetypal traits like courage, leadership, and discipline) with regenerative economics (collective behavior and resource use that restore rather than deplete). Regenerative masculinity means healing ourselves by healing our relationship the natural world, and vice versa, in a virtuous cycle. In practice, we engage directly with nature and seek to model our behavior after its example. Our healing begins by reclaiming personal sovereignty—nature does not ask permission—and culminates by facing our greatest fear—natural death is a transformation, not an end. Through this work, we strive to find our ideal, inspiring, deeply needed purpose as some form of service our local ecosystem. We show gratitude for what we’ve learned by caring for our lands and communities, receiving it, earned, in return.

The Watershed

A watershed is our guiding framework. It reflects the bioregional focus of our personal journeys, learning and stewarding our local lands, knowing our work flows beyond what we touch. A watershed is a living system where every drop of water shapes and is shaped by the land it moves through. In the same way, your journey is shaped by personal experiences, community, and environment. Just as water carves the land, we follow unique paths shaped by the challenges, growth, and the responsibilities we embrace. The Watershed serves as a visualization tool rather than a rigid structure, reminding us to root our work in place and the interdependent cycles of nature.

What You Can Expect

This journey is yours. You guide serves as an invitation to your local, natural teachers, so you can engage however your time, energy, and personality allow. In-person, virtual, or a combination you and your guide co-design, will engage in practices designed to reconnect you with yourself, your community, and the land. These may include:

  • Nature Quests – Immersing yourself in the wild to find something you have not been able to find in the everyday world.

  • Rites of Passage – Challenges that honor life’s trials, giving significance and recognition for the strength required and the growth achieved.

  • Fire Circles – Small-group discussions with other men, focused on accountability and shared wisdom.

  • Bioregional Mapping – Learning the lay of the ecological landscape where you live, how you fit into it, and what parallels can be drawn to your own, internal landscape.

  • Sovereignty Training – Through natural examples, unearthing the authority you have given to others, and developing a path to regain your life on your terms.

Ways of Practice

Your path is unique, but common themes emerge. The Ways represent distinct but interconnected approaches to masculine growth, each rooted in a deep engagement with self, others, and the world. You may resonate with one or more of these common themes, or you can home brew your own.

What Does it Cost?

Guardian’s Path is a labor of love by Aweed Nyoka, co-founder of The Climate Coaches. It helps keep the lights on, but must be accessible to anyone who feels called to explore and deepen their relationship to the natural world.

In-person or virtual sessions follow the same, base format as in our coaching or mapping services: $100/hour. The same sliding scale is available as well, so please reach out no matter your financial situation. If this matters to you, we’ll make it work!
